Monk’s Peppers are dried berries, also known as ‘Vitex’ or ‘Chaste tree Berry’, is a native of the Mediterranean and Central Asia. The taste and aroma is fairly weak, have an aromatic overtone, slightly pungent and a bitter aftertaste.
This dried berry powder is used as a spice or as a black pepper substitute. Used in French and Moroccan recipes, particularly with fish or seafood.
